Abstract
80Gbit/s all-optical regenerative wavelength conversion is demonstrated usi ng a data driven interferometric switch incorporating a semiconductor optic al amplifier. Error free operation is achieved For 2(31)-1 pattern lengths with switching powers of only 200fJ. Furthermore, the interferometer is ins ensitive to the polarisation state of the driving data signal.
