Abstract
Ultra-sensitive all-optical sampling at 1.5 mu m using two-photon-absorptio n in a commercial 1.3 mu m quantum-well semiconductor laser has been demons trated. Using only direct detection of the unamplified two photon absorptio n photocurrent, a temporal resolution of similar to 2ps and a sensitivity o f less than 2mW(2) have been achieved.
