A case of localized scleroderma (morphea) in a patient with a unilateral si
licone breast implant is reported. The clinical lesions showed cupuliform d
epressed plaques with scleroatrophia of the dermis on histology. Extensive
fibrosis was present. Electron microscopy and spectrophotometry showed the
presence of silicone in the lesion. It was concluded that this localized sc
leroderma could be related to silicone leaking into the breast tissue.
