Abstract
Polycrystalline samples of Ba5RTi3Nb7O30 [R = La, Y] complex tungsten bronz e (TB) type compounds have been prepared by high- temperature solid-state r eaction technique. Preliminary X- ray structural analysis of the compounds suggests the formation of single-phase orthorhombic compounds at room tempe rature. Dielectric studies as a function of frequency (0.4 to 10 kHz) at di fferent temperatures (from liquid nitrogen temperature to 300 degrees C) sh ow diffuse ferroelectric phase transition in these compounds.
