Abstract
Multinational corporations (MNCs) require managements that are diverse and multicultural to effectively compete in the global marketplace. The need to integrate the headquarters operations of many United States based MNCs has become a significant strategic issue. Bringing qualified host and third co untry nations into the United States on a semi-permanent basis appears to b e a feasible human resource management strategy for developing multicultura l management teams. This article reports on an exploratory survey to demons trate why inpatriate managers need specialized training programs to insure/ accelerate the acculturation process.
