Abstract
The 1991-1992 excavations of the Universities of Liege and New Mexico have given new elements for dating mobile art objects coming from E. D upont's excavations in 1867. Indeed, these objects (with the well-know n ivory anthropomorphic statuette and the carved reindeer antler engra ved with abstract designs) were attributed to the Aurignacian, the Gra vettian or even the early Solutrean. The Dupont's stratigraphic reason ed analysis by M. Dewez and the recent radiocarbon dates from the Trou Magrite, allow us to attribute our mobile art objects to the Aurignac ian. This attribution may be confirm by thematical, stylistic and tech nical comparisons with mobile art pieces coming from French and German Aurignacian sites.
