Abstract
Results from inelastic neutron scattering experiments on quasicrystalline i -AlPdMn at different temperatures between 300 and 1096 K are presented. The quasielastic scattering observed was analyzed using a modified Gauss-Loren tzian function. Above 900 K, a peak broadening is observed, which tentative ly is related to the phason degree of freedom in the sample. (C) 1999 Elsev ier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
