Abstract
Learning disabilities (LDs) have recently been recognized in adults. The hi story, etiology, and diagnosis of LDs in adults are reviewed with specific reference to the vocational adjustment of persons with LDs. Specific functi onal challenges experienced by persons with LDs are identified and discusse d in relation to their significance for rehabilitation interventions. The d evelopment of work competencies which accommodate disability - related limi tations is considered along with the need for comprehensive work-place inte rventions for this group.
