Abstract
We report on the synthesis and crystal structure of TlPbCl3 which can only be prepared by a high pressure synthesis, In similar experiments solid solu tions of the type Tl1-xRbxPbCl3 (0 < x < 0.25) and TlPbCl3-xBrx (0 < x < 2. 5) were prepared. The structural parameters are given. All compounds are is otypic with InSnCl3. The stability of such compounds and crystal chemical f eatures are discussed. (C) 1999 Academic Press.
