Yr. Bedzhanyan et al., Experimental study of elementary reactions of FO2 center dot radicals: I. Generation, registration, and concentration measurements, KINET CATAL, 40(4), 1999, pp. 443-451
FO2. radicals are registered by IR LMR spectroscopy. The experimental ESR/I
R LMR setup designed for the study of reactions involving FO2. radicals, as
well as the methods for generating these radicals and measuring their abso
lute concentrations, are described. The F + O-2 + M reaction is a reliable
basis for the study of the reactions of FO2. radicals under jet conditions.
The upper limit of the rate constant of the FO2. + FO2. reaction (k < 1.0
x 10(-14) cm(3)/s) and the probabilities of their heterogeneous decay on Ha
loCarbon Wax gamma = (7 +/- 3.5) x 10(-5) are estimated. The consumption of
the radicals in these reactions does not hamper the measurement of the FO2
. absolute concentrations.
