The kinetics of the two-step formation of ferrite was experimentally studie
d in the Li2CO3-Fe2O3 system at a molar ratio of the reactants of 1 : 1. Th
e curves of formation of ferrites LiFe5O8 and LiFeO2 were obtained at 600,
650, and 700 degrees C. The adequacy of the main rate laws of solid-phase r
eactions was checked for each step.
