Abstract
20 children aged 6 (n=6), 8 (n=6), and 10 (n=8) years, with equal numbers o f boys and girls participated in a picture-naming task. Some temporal param eters of the speech data u ere examined. These included total phrase durati on, duration of speaking time, and duration of pauses. Both age and sex dif ferences u cre found. These results are presented and discussed briefly.
