Abstract
Clinical and clinicopathologic studies performed over the last 50 years hav e elucidated many of the important features of lobular carcinoma in situ, H owever, certain aspects of the natural history, treatment, and diagnosis of these lesions remain controversial. The purpose of this article is to revi ew the current understanding of lobular carcinoma in situ and to highlight some of the controversies surrounding this entity. Copyright (C) 1999 by W. B.
