Abstract
Mice exposed to a chronic auditory stressor and treated with fluoxetin e (5 mg/kg) showed a reduction in stress-induced suppression of thymus and spleen cellularity, and in peripheral T lymphocyte population. Th e blastogenic response of spleen lymphoid cells and the delayed type h ypersensitivity response (DTH) to sheep red blood cells (SRBC) were al so assessed and fluoxetine was found to partially reverse the inhibito ry effect of stress on both parameters.
