Abstract
The solid state amorphization of poly(ethylene terephthalate), applying mec hanical milling, is described. Their effect on samples quenched or slowly c ooled after the melt as well as in samples with different crystallinity deg rees, attained from annealing treatments, is characterized using differenti al scanning calorimetry and X-ray diffraction at room temperature. In previ ously annealed poly(ethylene terephthalate) at several temperatures some di fferences appear in the amorphization after milling. However, effects other than the crystallinity degree have to be taken into account to explain the m. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
