Mb. Bogdanov et Am. Cherepashchuk, Disk brightness distribution of a red giant from observations of gravitational microlensing, ASTRON REP, 43(9), 1999, pp. 601-607
The results of an analysis of observations of gravitational microlensing of
a Galactic-bulge red giant-MACHO Alert 95-30, obtained by the internationa
l MACHO and GMAN teams-are presented. Assuming circular symmetry of the sou
rce, the radial brightness distribution is searched for in the set of funct
ions that are nonnegative and nonincreasing with distance from the stellar-
disk center. The restored brightness distribution is in good agreement with
the model-fitting results, and is qualitatively consistent with calculatio
ns of the extended model atmospheres of late-type giants.
