BIOCHIMICA ET BIOPHYSICA ACTA-GENE STRUCTURE AND EXPRESSION
In Pseudomonas fluorescens no. 33, the lipase gene is clustered with the ge
nes for alkaline protease, AprDEF exporter, and two homologue proteins of S
erratia serine proteases (pspA and pspB). Secretion of the lipase and alkal
ine protease through AprDEF was shown in the Escherichia coli cells. Intere
stingly, the E. coli cells carrying the pspA gene secreted PspA to the medi
a AprDEF-independently. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
