Abstract
In Streptomyces coelicolor A3(2), as the content of palmitoleic acid increa sed with decreasing growth temperature, H2O2 resistance decreased. Producti on of thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances upon H2O2 treatment was incre ased by supplementing unsaturated fatty acids. Therefore, the content of pa lmitoleic acid is a determining factor for the survival of Streptomyces coe licolor A3(2) subjected to H2O2 stress.
