Abstract
Chemical and physicochemical properties of the soils of the coastal plains adjacent to the Sea of Japan and the Sea of Okhotsk are described. These da ta are compared with data on similar soils in other parts of the world. Sev eral groups of soils of the coastal plains are distinguished.
