Abstract
A revision of Sphagnum specimens collected in the Azores revealed that both Sphagnum affine Ren. & Card. and Sphagnum papillosum Lindb. occu rred in the archipelago. Sphagnum centrale C. Jens, however has to be withdrawn from the flora of the Azores as all previously mentioned occ urrences were based on erroneously determined material.
