Abstract
The aryltricyclospirodienones 16a, 16b, 16c and 18 have been designed as potential inhibitors of aromatase and are synthesised from 6-methox ytetralone; dagger compounds 16a and 18 have proved effective inhibito rs with activities of the same order as aminoglutethimide.
