Abstract
The construction of a photoaffinity probe based on abscisic acid is de scribed. A strategy based on C-4'-tethering of aromatic hydrazides led to abscisic acid 4'-(3 ''-azido-4 ''-hydroxybenzoylhydrazide). This c ompound is of moderate biological activity in cereal aleurone assays a nd was readily iodinated with chloramine T and sodium iodide, conditio ns that were used for the preparation of the [I-125]-labelled compound in high radiochemical yield.
