Abstract
We study the density profile and the dynamics of atoms interacting wit h the quantized radiation field in a trap. The density profile is eval uated by using the Bogoliubov approximation. The calculated mean numbe r of atoms at zero temperature appears to be a function of time which shows a damped oscillation. The shape of the lines for the light scatt ered from Bose-Einstein condensates are also discussed.
