The solubility of hydrogen in Athabasca bitumen was measured using a batch
autoclave. The experiments were conducted at temperatures in the range 50-3
00 degrees C at partial pressures of hydrogen up to 24.8 MPa. The predictio
n and correlation of the solubility data by the Peng-Robinson equation, the
Soave-Redlich-Kwong equation and the Grayson-Streed method were carried ou
t. The best result was obtained with the use of either a modified Peng-Robi
nson or Soave-Redlich-Kwong equation of state. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Lt
