Na2-xCuxV12O30 (0 < x less than or equal to 1) and Na2-xFexV12O30 (0 < x le
ss than or equal to 0.8) P-bronzes were synthesized, and their electrode po
tentials were measured as a function of copper and iron concentrations in s
olution, The effects of the H+, Na+, K+, Cu+, Zn2+, Fe2+, Co2+, Al3+, and N
i2+ ions were assessed, and the corresponding selectivity coefficients were
determined. The electrodes were found to be applicable as indicator electr
odes in potentiometric determination of the Cu2+ and Fe3+ ions in acid solu
tions.
