An. Mogilevskii et al., Determination of 1,1-dimethylhydrazine in air using mass-sensitive piezoresonance sensors, J ANALYT CH, 54(9), 1999, pp. 875-879
Results of studying complexes of poly-[N-2-R-oxycarbonylethyl]ethyleneimine
s with copper(II) chloride (R = ethyl, n-butyl, and n-decyl) as sensing coa
tings of piezoresonance sensors for the determination of 1,1 -dimethylhydra
zine vapors in air are presented. It was demonstrated that the adsorption o
f the test compound on all adsorbents is reversible. It was found that anal
ytical parameters of sensors are largely determined by the nature of the ra
dical in the eater group of the polymer ligand and the coordination unsatur
ation of the metal ion in the complex. The maximum sensitivity and hydropho
bicity was attained using a complex with the ratio Ligand : Cu = 2 and R =
n-decyl. The detection limit of a sensor with this coating is 0.15 mg/m(3).
