Abstract
The reaction of 3-acetyl-2H-1-benzopyran-2-ones with malononitrile affords dicyanomethylene derivatives which dimerise to 1-amino-3,5,5-bis(2-oxo-2H-1 -benzopyran-3-yl)-5-methyl-1,3-cyclohexadiene-2,6,6-tricarbonitrile derivat ives and related dimeric intermediate products.
