Abstract
Histoplasma capsulatum, the causative agent of the most common systemic fun gal infection, histoplasmosis, has become subject to increasing study in pa rallel with rising prevalence of human immunodeficiency. This review presen ts a summary of the advances made in the investigation of H. capsulatum gen omics, molecular epidemiology, pathogenesis, and molecular genetics. (C) El sevier, Paris.
