Abstract

The PS185 experiment at LEAR/CERN has studied strangeness production in ant iproton-proton collisions. Exclusive final states of antihyperon-hyperon pa irs have been measured in order to investigate strange-quark production dyn amics. A comprehensive data set is available for the <(Lambda)over bar>Lamb da channel and observables include total and differential cross sections, p olarisations and spin correlations. Data from other hyperon channels, such as <(Sigma)over bar>(o)Lambda + c.c., <(Sigma)over bar>(+)Sigma(+) and <(Si gma)over bar>(-)Sigma(-), are also available. The analysis of a spin transf er measurement for the (p) over bar p-<(Lambda)over bar>Lambda reaction usi ng a polarised proton target is in progress.
