We study dimensionality effects on the hot electron photoluminescence (HPL)
in multiple quantum wells (MQWs) and superlattices (SLs). Using the techni
que of HPL we demonstrate that the reduction of the semiconductor dimension
ality leads to several effects, such as a significant modification of the e
lectron-phonon interaction, the observation of L-valley confinement, and va
riations of the HPL polarization with energy and magnetic field.
