Abstract
The area of the Ionian sea, between Albania and the Southern Italian Penins ula, has been taken into account for the production of geomagnetic componen t maps. Data from the national Albanian and Italian magnetic repeat station networks have been merged, and normal reference fields in latitude and lon gitude, have been computed. Data processing, reduction procedures and compa risons with IGRF are presented. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights r eserved.
