Abstract
We modelled the decay histories of subseabed pore pressure measurements tha t were made with a free-fall Pop Up Pore Pressure Instrument (PUPPI). The u ndisturbed ambient pressure is usually determined by extrapolating the reco rded pressure history in the lit-domain if equilibrium pressure has not bee n reached. This paper focuses on a critical comparison of the extrapolation and the modelling approach. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights rese rved.
