Abstract
A new Geomorphologic Instantaneous Unit Hydrograph is proposed, It includes the position of the tributary links in the fluvial network which was not c onsidered in previous developments, The resulting hydrograph shows signific ative differences with the original model of Rodriguez-Iturbe and Valdes (1 979), modifying the ordinate and the time of ocurrence of the peak. These d ifferences increase when the overland flow effects are included. There is n ot a unique hydrograph for distinct watersheds with similar Horton ratios. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd.
