Abstract
Complex behaviour of sample volumes in heavy ion beam probe (HIBP) is numer ically and experimentally explored. Three types of the sample volume diverg ences are established experimentally. It is found that the comparison of th e results of experiments and trajectory calculation can provide calibration s of the HIBP.
