Products of oxidation of o-phenylenediamine, 3,3'-dimethoxybenzidine, and 3
,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine with hydrogen peroxide, catalyzed with peroxi
dase from horse radish roots (native and immobilized on chromatographic pap
er and polyurethane foam) were studied in comparison by absorption and diff
use reflection spectroscopy. The kinetics and pathways of the enzyme-cataly
zed reactions differ depending on whether the reaction was performed in sol
ution with native peroxidase or on the above-mentioned supports with the im
mobilized enzyme.
