Abstract
Changes in fluorescence emission and excitation spectra of sycamore (Acer p seudoplatanus L.) cotyledons and chlorophyll-protein complexes were studied . In the seed cotyledons, chlorophyll is preserved in long-wave form (F-max 735) but, during germination, forms with F-max 685 and 740 nm appeared in both the light and dark. Excitation maxima appeared at 440, 470 and 490 nm. A relation was shown between chlorophyll forms and reaction centers of PS I, PS II and LCH II complexes. The results obtained indicated that the chlo rophyll forms and pigment-protein complexes of cotyledons of sycamore seedl ings germinated in light are similar to those of leaves, while those germin ated in the dark are different.
