Abstract
Frechet-type dendrimers with a phloroglucinol core or a tetraphenylporphyri n core (Aida's dendrimers) were synthesized. Spectroscopic examination reve aled that [60]fullerene is bound to the interior space of these dendrimers. The findings indicate that one can regard the dendrimers as novel host com pounds bearing a large interior cavity. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
