M. Pohl et A. Bracke, Thermally induced microstructural changes of ferritic-austenitic stainlesssteels and their influence on residual stress, Z METALLKUN, 90(8), 1999, pp. 551-556
The construction of machinery and plant is making constant demands on mater
ials to be used. Thereby, it is necessary that the materials used have to c
omply with a wide range of application when strength and corrosion resistan
ce are concerned. Regarding these points of view, the group of ferritic-aus
tenitic duplex stainless steels has more and more established its own posit
ion on the market. A characterization of microstructural changes of duplex
stainless steel upon different thermal cycling as well as their influence o
n the deformation behaviour and the residual stress shall represent the cen
tral point of this elaboration. The intention is to define the correspondin
g influence parameters as exactly as possible in order to create a basis fo
r further modelling the correlations.
