Abstract
Shear horizontally polarized acoustic plate modes (SHPAPM) were used for th e detection of water pollution with engine oil. The changes in the SHPAPM a ttenuation caused by presence of the pollutant film on the water surface we re monitored. Excellent sensitivity and reproducibility was achieved by thi s method.
