C. Wang et al., Preliminary study on oligoaniline/silica composite nano-particles as a high density information storage material, CHEM J CH U, 20(9), 1999, pp. 1491-1493
An access to an increase in the information storage capacity is to reduce m
emory units to a nano-scale. Therefore, we used carboxylized phenyl-capped
polyaniline tetramer (PCAT) as the functional component and silica as the c
arrier to prepare PCAT/silica composite nano-particles (phi: 60 nm) with a
structure of core-shell. The functionalized particles were two-dimensionall
y arrayed on substrates such as silicon, glass and ITO glass at pH 3, SEM a
nd AFM results proved the arraying regularity of these particles under any
given conditions, and the electrostatic force microscopy showed their respo
nse to +3 V bias applied.
