A new genus, Fibragallia, with descriptions of new species from Central America and Mexico (Homoptera : Cicadellidae : Agalliinae)

A new genus, Fibragallia, type-species Agallia bidigitata Oman, is establis hed for the Agallia bidigitata species group. Seven new species in the comp lex are described and illustrated: F. tridigitata from Panama, mexicana fro m Mexico and paradigitata, similis, grandigitata, lamina, and biclava from Costa Rica. Diagnostic characters in the female seventh sternum are elucida ted. Fibragallia bidigitata (Oman) is designated as a new combination. A ke y to species; a discussion of generic relationships and distribution of the genus and species complex are presented.
