Abstract
Optical time-resolved spectroscopy has been applied to study oxyhemoglobin dissociation and the subsequent oxygen rebinding with heme iron. It has bee n shown that the fluorescent probe 1,8-ANS probe does not change the kineti c parameters of the hemoglobin oxygenation and therefore it can be used to investigate dynamics of conformational changes in this transport protein.
