Abstract
Partial discharge location is a powerful and useful tool for the maint enance and operation of electrical power distribution cables and has a ttracted tremendous research and development effort since the 1980's. Questions regarding location estimation and selection of system parame ters remain unanswered. In this paper, we give theoretical attention t o these questions via the Cramer-Rao lower bound analysis.
