Abstract
Upper bound limit load solutions fbr a round welded undermatched tensile ba r with an internal axisymmetric crack are obtained. The rigid perfectly pla stic material models based on the von Mises and Tresca yield criteria are a dopted. Kinematically admissible velocity fields account for the real behav iour of the velocity field near velocity discontinuity surfaces which are a ssumed to exist at the bimaterial interfaces.
