A. Dittler et G. Kasper, Influence of regeneration behaviour and regeneration pattern on the residual pressure drop of rigid filter media, GEFAHR R L, 59(7-8), 1999, pp. 299-303
Rigid ceramic filter media are often used to remove particles from gas stre
ams at elevated temperatures. When regenerating these filter media at a cer
tain pressure drop, a so-called,patchy cleaning" can be observed which infl
uences the pressure drop after the regeneration step (residual pressure dro
p). This contribution presents model calculations on the influence of patch
y cleaning and regeneration patterns of dust cake at the filter surface on
the residual pressure drop of rigid filter media. The calculations prove th
at the regeneration pattern has a major influence on the residual pressure
drop of a partially regenerated rigid filter medium. This can lead to a mis
-interpretation of the regeneration process and the process stability, beca
use the residual pressure drop can be low, although the regeneration effici
ency is poor.
