Abstract
Faujasites such as HY, CaY and MgY are employed as solid acid catalysts for the clean and less hazardous preparation of phenylhydrazone, 2,4-dinitroph enylhydrazone as well as 1,3-dithiane derivatives of carbonyl compounds. Th e reactions proceed very smoothly and the yields of the derivatives are exc ellent.
