Abstract
Dependence of pH on dissociation degree of ion exchangers has been con sidered. It has been shown that dependence pH = f(1g(alpha/(1-alpha))) is expressed by S-shaped curve. The generalized Henderson-Hasselbach equation is a linear approximation of a part of this curve in the vici ninty of its inflection point at alpha = 1/2. Range of validity of thi s equation has been determined and equations connecting its constants with apparent ion exchange equilibrium constant have been derived.
