Ag. Grandpierre et al., Theory of stimulated Raman scattering cancellation in wavelength-division-multiplexed systems via spectral inversion, IEEE PHOTON, 11(10), 1999, pp. 1271-1273
By exploiting the reflection symmetry of the underlying evolution equations
, we theoretically demonstrate that stimulated Raman scattering crosstalk i
n continuous-wave wavelength-division-multiplexed systems can be totally el
iminated using spectral inversion techniques. We show that this result is a
lways true, irrespective of the shape of the Raman gain curve or the loss/g
ain profile along the optical fiber system. These results are illustrated b
y means of relevant examples.
