Determination of synchronous machine parameters using network synthesis techniques

This paper deals with the problem of the determination of synchronous machi ne parameters starting from two-port information. Network synthesis techniq ues are used to show that no unique solution can be found for models contai ning more than one damper winding. Only a limited number of parameters can be determined in a unique way from two-port information.
