Abstract
We derive a formula for the dependence of vegetation-canopy reflectance on terrain slope (visible light only), Reflectance Is inversely proportional t o the sum of cosine of incidence angle and cosine of exitance angle. Labora tory measurements of miniature forest canopies set up on inclined slopes co mpare well with predicted reflectances.
